Argentina: Barley planted on 47% of planned area to-date

Argentina’s barley acres are forecast at 1.3 mln ha in 2022/23, planted to-date are 47%, production estimate is 5.4 mln tonnes, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their latest report earlier this month.

Old crop exports in January-May were 2.6 mln tonnes, new crop export licences have been booked for 0.75 mln tonnes. Virtually all new crop licences are for FAQ barley exports to China. However, export activities have been virtually zero since months, local sources report.
